Iwate is located in the northern part of Japan.
And this time, I visited Tohno district where I'd long wanted to go.
Tohno is one of the most famous places that you can experience the natural life of the ancient Japanese.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a tougei (ceramic art) trial at Furusato Mura to touch upon the way to create the traditional pottery.
Besides tougei, I was also able to drop in at some old houses with fireplaces,
sheds, looms......and even stables.
The typical image of Japan might be a hectic city like Tokyo, or in more traditional angle, temples&shrines of Kyoto could be the first priority when visiting Japan.
But if you go north, extend your journey as far as Tohoku area, you can feel
more deep, rich, and unexpected beauty in cooler weather.
